Dress Code and What to Bring

The Grand Mosque has a genuinely enforced modest dress code: long sleeves, full-length trousers or a floor-length skirt, and for women, a headscarf covering the hair. This isn't a soft suggestion — you'll be asked to cover up at the entrance if you're not dressed appropriately.

Best Time to Visit

Mid-morning, after the initial rush but before the midday heat and tour bus crowds peak, tends to give the calmest experience and the best light for photos across the white marble courtyard. Friday mornings have restricted visiting hours for prayer, so it's worth checking that before planning around a Friday slot.
